In no particular order....
1. Sipping drinks at Alexander's on the top floor of the downtown Hilton and watching the awesome sunset with air-conditioning
2. Taking a shower with someone who scrubs up well....but were clean to start!
3. Feet up. Good book. Coffee with Kahlua.
4. Build a bed outdoors to watch the Milky Way in peace and quiet.
5. Sittin' on a corner, watchin' all the girls go by.

Re: Top Five Things For Labor Day Weekend That AREN'T Burning Man
Wed, August 31, 2005 - 10:03 PM1. Calculate how much it would cost me in gas & food to spend Labor Day weekend at Bumbershoot, the big art festival in Seattle, with my best childhood friend, who offered me her spare bedroom for three whole days
2. Watch news coverage of the fabulous city of New Orleans: 80% underwater, tens of thousands of people without homes or a way to make a living, no food, no water, no power....leading me to the conclusion that spending my money going to an art festival that will still be there next year would be selfish and shallow
3. Donate total from #1 above to Northwest Medical Teams
4. Spend Labor Day weekend with my cats, eating take-out Chinese food and watching videos of movies that were cheesey even when I was in high school
5. Practice not rolling my eyes at the words "Burning Man", to be ready when boyfriend returns from you-know-where -

Re: Top Five Things For Labor Day Weekend That AREN'T Burning Man
Wed, September 7, 2005 - 8:44 PMI watched "Dirty Dancing" three times. Bringing me up to an embarrassing total of probably 30 times. Sad to say, I can recite much more of this movie than "nobody puts Baby in a corner".
And from what little I've heard, sounds like you-know-what in the desert wasn't much fun for some people this year.

Re: Top Five Things For Labor Day Weekend That AREN'T Burning Man
Wed, September 7, 2005 - 11:30 PMHey, I ended up watching "Dirty Dancing" too. I even watched it with a guy who made the movie even more memorable. I mean, not only did he recite lines from the movie, but made up lines as well. It spun the movie into a whole different light that had me howling with laughter by the time it was over.
I have to remember to thank his mother from making him watch that movie with her on more than one occasion. hahahaha
